What is a poem?

How to Write a Poem
By: Edward Zhao

You might find something that looks
Like many blocks of words
Block by block they add
To the frustration and the boredom we have

Poetry is not that
But precisely the opposite
It enlightens and delights
Those who are willing

Poetry needs passion
Passion that boils
not simmers
Poetry needs insight
From the world

Poetry can come
in many forms
From couplets to haikus to quatrains
They can come in paragraphs
Lines, words, or even books

Poetry is not scribbled
Just because there is free time
Poetry is written
Line by line

Poetry is something that requires heart
Thought and devotion to the task
Poetry so vague sometimes
I hope this isn't the same

Good poetry gives a hidden message
The message here is quite direct
What is a poem
What does it have

What is a poem
Is this one?
